I'm reading "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas." I've only read one or two Hunter S. Thompson books, but this.. I'm amazed with every sentence, every paragraph. This was a man who was born to write.
I hadn't had the urge to write in a while. Poetry, prose, freelance.. I was worried that I had lost passion for something I've loved my entire life. I was hoping this blog would help get me in the swing of things again, but minimal luck. Then I watched Gonzo, a documentary on Thompson. Fascinating. They say he wrote and rewrote "The Great Gatsby" to learn sentence structure and the writing style of F. Scott Fitzgerald. Naturally, I wanted to do the same.
I went on a library hunt, and little did I know the Mid-Manhattan library is practically across the street from my internship! Lunch break, library card, book. "The Great Gatsby" was nowhere to be found, regardless of a computer system telling me that two copies must be floating around the library, so I settled for "Fear and Loathing."
I'm getting my groove back.
On to the outfit. Why do I always end up on the roof with no pants?
Weather was nice today, though it became substantially colder and the wind was a blowin' once on the roof. Only got a few shots in before scooting my booty down the fire escape and back into my slightly warmer apartment!
